SKORT
I am actually quite baffled at myself, that it has been over three years since I last wrote a style blog post. In the spirit of full transparency, I became quite self-conscious when it came to talking about style because, for the most part, I didn’t feel well-versed enough on the topic to discuss it with confidence. Half the time, the inspiration behind what I wear really depends on the day, what I have in my closet and my mood. There are times I feel self-conscious in my body and would rather be comfortable. There are times I feel confident and will dress accordingly. There are also times I feel creative and inspired and therefore, look to wear something I’ve had for a long time differently. No matter, like with all dwindling insecurities, I press.
Question, are skorts still a thing? I remember when they were in rage as a teenager, however, over time, skorts were replaced with short-shorts or high-low dresses and skirts. I found these on a random trip to the shops and figured it was time to resurrect a classic on my trip to Thailand!
Another question, are kimonos still a thing? I’ve had this kimono since high school, and it has never failed to hit when it needs to! They are the perfect oversized but light cover-up or the statement piece on what would otherwise be a dull outfit. While traveling I tend to walk around a lot, so to tie up my outfit, I just went with sneakers (your feet will thank you).
What are your thoughts on this fit? Should I resurrect more classics, or have they passed on for a reason?
Shoutout to my sister for putting up with my awkwardness as we did this shoot! (Y’all don’t need to see the BTS)
Until next time,
