I’ve never felt a love like this

It’s all consuming, its suffocating

It’s unexplainable, its my comfort

My shield, the one who wipes away my tears

The one who is closer than my next breath

He’s the potter and I’m the clay

He has broken me with grace

He strengthened me when my knees gave way.

He kept my heart beating when I wished it to stop.

He was my friend when I wasn’t His.

When I was invisible to everyone else,

I was the apple of His eyes.

He first saw me and called me beautiful

When my mind magnified my flaws,

He told me I was perfect.

When my thoughts screamed out in judgement of who I was and who I should be,

He told me He loved me as I was.

My words are never enough,

Because on the day I almost lost my life, He saved it.

On the days I told Him I hated him and sent multiple accusations His way,

He said, “keep going, let it all out.”

In the days where I felt alone, abandoned, unloved, and insignificant,

Those were the days He was closer than my skin.

I’ve never felt a love like this

Perfect love, like a pot filled with exact measures of ingredients,

Blended in perfect harmony.

I speak, you hear me

I seek for assistance and you give me beyond what I’ve asked.

I’ve never felt a love like this

Meticulously planning out my path.

My job is to follow the sound of your voice.

What love is this?

In times I chose not to walk, you sit with me and wait.

With unlimited patience

I am unworthy, but I am grateful.

Words fail me as I attempt to express my sincere gratitude.

Not because of what you gave me,

Nor how you have blessed me,

But because you loved me first.

You loved the O.G version, and you want the O.G. version.

Tears still flood my eyes when I think about your overwhelming love,
