3 Ways to style a dress-shirt Part 1: White-out
“I am not what I ought to be; I am not what I wish to be. I am not what I one day will be, But by the grace of God, I am not what I once was” ~John Newton
Hey guys! Welcome back! I hope you all have been well!
I can’t believe that I am able to publish two posts in less than 1 month! Who am I? I don’t know blogging is my new found method of procrastinating lately, but I’m not complaining.
It definitely has been a strange couple of weeks for me. I don’t know if anyone else is feeling like this, but lately, I’ve been going in and out of feeling overwhelmed. The feeling is not necessarily predicated on specific events, but it’s a combination of everything. Where it feels like if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Or it’s all of it at the same time. For me, it varies from trying to stay consistent in the present, and questioning what the future will look like.
One thing I’ll like to say to anyone who feels like this is to remember to take a moment to BREATHE!
However you chose to practice this (literally, metaphorically, spiritually), do that.
Remember you are doing your best, with what you know.
If you don’t hear it enough, I am proud of you and how far you’ve come in your journey.
Things may not be where you want them to be, but they are definitely where they used to be.
Remember that if you’ve prayed about it, God’s working on it. So try to trust Him with your tears, frustrations, feelings of inadequacy, or tiredness. His grace will be with you in overflow.
Now on to today’s look! One of the ways I express myself creatively is through clothes. I love being able to wear a certain item in different ways because it not only saves me money (thank God for that), but it allows me to explore the versatility of that item. So, when I realized that I wore the same dress shirt in 3 different ways within the span of a month, I thought I’ll share.
I love flare pants and when I found these I was excited! I was going for an all-white retro-ish vibe with a pop of color.
Style tip: Just because it is a dress-shirt, doesn’t mean must be worn in such a rigid format. Although I do love a good tailored suit moment, I hope with this series, you’ll gain ideas on other ways to dress up or dress down your dress shirts.
Let me know down in the comments what you think about this look! I would love to hear your thoughts!
That’s all folks! Please take care of yourselves. You are in my prayers.
Until next time,
